Presentation La Forêt du Pilat
Ideally located in the seaside resort of Pyla sur Mer, at the foot of the immense Dune du Pilat and near the famous Landes forests, Camping La Forêt du Pilat is a little corner of paradise for nature lovers. As day breaks, early risers who scale the immense dune are rewarding with breath-taking views of the surrounding forests, the ocean and the Bay of Arcachon.
Relax on a sun lounger or on the terrace that overlooks the pool while the kids jump into the refreshing water. Younger kids will enjoy the mini splash pool with waterfall. The spa area features a Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, and well-trained staff are on hand to provide rejuvenating massages.
As this is a family focused resort, you can enrol the kids in one of the Children’s Club (Children & Teenager) where they can make friends. It’s a fantastic way for them to meet new people from other parts of the world whilst playing sports, games and trying arts & crafts. Adults can also enjoy plenty of activities and entertainment such as aqua aerobics, cocktail games, live shows and music.
The campsite is served by a whole host of facilities including a restaurant, takeaway, pizzeria, bakery, bar and snack bar. Shops include a mini-market, grocery store, souvenir shop and international newspaper stand. You won’t have the leave the resort to buy everything you need on the duration of your stay.

Around La Forêt du Pilat Campsite
The area is recommended for those that like to get out and explore. As well as having the massive Dune du Pyla, the region has many cycling and walking trails. The campsite’s close proximity to the Landes Forest means that there is plenty of natural area to explore.
Arcachon Bay is one of the Atlantic coast’s most popular resorts. The town of Arcachon is a fascinating place to explore due to its vibrant atmosphere and lively daily markets. The town is split into four parts, each named after a season. Take a wander around the Ville d’Hiver to look at the stunning grand houses that date back to the 1800’s.
Climbing the 258 steps to the top of the Cap Ferret lighthouse is a must to enjoy breath-taking views over the Arcachon Bay. The area is famous for its oysters. If you look out to sea, you will see tall posts rising out the water – these mark the locations of the oyster beds.
For sightseeing a bit further away, the city of Bordeaux is an hour’s drive away and makes for a fascinating day out, either exploring the city or the many vineyards in the region.
