The blissful sands of Ondres-Plage, just 1.4 miles from the campsite, is the closest beach to Lou Pignada and can be reached by jumping on the free shuttle bus. The beach is ideal for sandcastle building and sunbathing, while the waves of the Atlantic Ocean lend themselves perfectly to a range of water sports.
The surroundings of the campsite are perfect for cyclists, as the famous 1200km Vélodyssée cycle route passes the campsite. Running all the way from Roscoff to Hendaye in Spain, the trail invites cycling enthusiasts to enjoy scenic rides along the coast.
One of the best places to soak up the heritage, history, culture and cuisine of the Basque Country is Bayonne, the capital city of the region. Along with quaint cafes, restaurants, shops and traditional buildings, visitors can check out great attractions such as the Bayonne Botanical Garden, Château-Vieux, Carreau des Halles Market and Sainte-Marie de Bayonne Cathedral.
