The resort teeters on a hill that overlooks Saarburg, a traditional Rhineland town with an old watermill and quaint buildings. The focal point of the town is its bustling market square. As well as offering nice restaurants, shops and bars, the town is a great jumping off point for boat trips on the river Saar.

There are a handful of great sightseeing opportunities in the local area including the Wolves Park Werner Freund in Merzig, the Open Air Museum Roscheider Hof in Konz and Trier, Germany's oldest city.
