The It Widd holiday park is of course the best location on the water. At many accommodations there is a jetty for your own boat and otherwise you just rent one. Canoes, sailing boats and windsurfing ... on the water you will not get bored. Something else? Practice your backhand on the tennis court or treat the inner man with a tasty dish in the à la carte restaurant. Proud Frisians

The Frisians are a proud people; proud of their language and proud of their province. So you see name signs often in both Dutch and Frisian and do not understand what they are talking about now and then. So it still feels like you are abroad! But no worries, the majority also speak excellent Dutch. We fully understand that pride for their 'country'. Beautiful nature reserves, nice water rich and more than enough culture. In the National Park De Alde Feanen you cycle or walk along the water front, through the forest, along meadows and through villages. All in one go! Leeuwarden (or Ljouwert) was the cultural capital of Europe in 2018 and the city center is nicely compact with canals, historic buildings and numerous shops and trendy restaurants. One of the icons of the city is the Oldehove; a leaning tower with 183 steps dating back to 1529. Do you dare take the climb? In the ancient city of Heerenveen (it Hearrenfean) you almost trip over the monuments. Can not be missed? De Crackstate, Oenemastate and Mill Welgelegen.
