Camping Hameau de l’Ourthe

No big water park here, but that's exactly what makes it so charming. Right next to the campsite meanders the river Ourthe — shallow, refreshing and ideal for small water adventures. Sand between the toes, building dams with stones, or floating on an inflatable tire: the children have endless fun. The children search through the shallow water with landing nets for fish. So don't forget your water shoes and inflatables!

Are you in need of more water fun? Just a 20-minute drive away is Houffalize's outdoor swimming pool, complete with slide, paddling pool and sunbathing area. Perfect for a summer day of splashing fun. And the drive there? It takes you right through rolling forests and meadows — an adventure in itself.

This campsite is all about simplicity with a warm twist. No excessive luxury, wél a place where kids can play freely, and you finally finish that book. ’s evening everyone sits on the terrace chatting with a Belgian beer in hand. In the main building, you will find a ba,r and you can go there when the weather is a little less. You might find a game or some books. 

The area is a true paradise for nature lovers. Directly from the campsite you walk sóinto the forest. The famous hiking trail to Le Hérou is highly recommended — not too difficult, but wél with spectacular views over the Ourthe Valley. Bring a backpack with snacks and make it a mini picnic on the rocks.

A fifteen-minute drive away is La Roche-en-Ardenne, a town full of history, cosy terraces and quaint stores. Visit the medieval castle or stroll along the Ourthe River with an ice cream in your hand. The market in Bastogne is also worth a trip, especially if you like local products and local atmosphere.

And for those looking for a little more action: less than half an hour away, you will find several outdoor companies that organise kayaking trips, climbing walls or mountain biking routes.
