Camping Porton Nature Hideouts

As soon as you arrive, the sea immediately catches your attention. The campground is right on a part sand, part pebble beach. At Camping Porton, everything is about enjoying yourself at your own pace. The atmosphere is friendly and natural, and thanks to modern amenities, it also feels comfortable. The campsite's restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes using fresh, local produce. Fish from the grill, fragrant vegetables and a glass of wine from the region – that tastes nóg better with a sea view. For a light lunch or an ice cream, there's the beachfront snack bar, a place where you'll linger for hours unnoticed.

There's a small store where you can get basic groceries, such as fresh bread and local delicacies. Don't expect a large shopping centre, but rather that fine, small-scale feel that so suits the atmosphere of the campground. For children, there is a playground where they can play safely, and around the campground are plenty of trails for little walks or bike rides.

The big plus? The location. You are within a ten-minute walk in the heart of Rovinj – no car needed, just a path that leads you along the coast into town. Ideal for an evening stroll with the setting sun on your face and an ice cream in your hand.

Rovinj is an ancient port city that was once an island and is now connected to the mainland. The old town is a maze of narrow streets, colourful facades and hidden squares. Here you can stroll endlessly, discover stores and plop down on a harbour-side terrace.

Do you like more than beach and city? Just a 15-minute walk from downtown is Lone Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in the region. It is an ideal spot for a day with the whole family: clear water, plenty of shade from the trees and room to play. Also nearby is the Golden Cape (Zlatni Rt), a vast shady park with hiking trails, viewpoints and spots to unwind.

Also fun for the kids: the aquarium of Rovinj, where they can learn about the underwater world of the Adriatic. Or take a boat trip along the islets you can already see from the campsite – a trip guaranteed to impress.
