Camping Stella Maris, in the beautiful region of Istria, was completely renovated in 2018 and now offers a modern reception, a restaurant with fresh colors, a new swimming pool, gravel paths and atmospheric lighting. You are just a few minutes’ stroll from the beach and within walking distance of the historic centre of Umag. The picturesque towns of Porec and Buje are also just a short drive away.
By the pool or beach?
Shall we go to the beach or to the pool? The choice is yours when you stay at Camping Stella Maris. Immerse yourself in the turquoise water of the Adriatic Sea. Don’t forget your snorkel… there’s an amazing underwater world to discover. Water shoes are recommended as the beaches vary from stone platforms to fine gravel. The campsite pool offers the chance to sunbathe while kids have a splash. Little ones can also make friends at the activity club. Stay fit on this holiday with an aqua aerobics class or some beach volleyball.
The culture of Istria
A stay in Istria offers you the chance to indulge in plenty of culture. Umag, now connected to the mainland of Istria, once sat on its own island was founded by the Romans. Discover the old city walls and Venetian houses in the old town centre. Along the water you can find plenty of great restaurants offers fine seafood options and mouth-watering pizzas. ? The famous Euphrasian Basilica in Porec, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of many impressive buildings in the old centre and features beautiful Romanesque and Baroque architecture. Children can enjoy learning about marine life at the Porec Aquarium or make a splash at one of the many aqua parks nearby.

Effective immediately, the following rules apply: Due to fire risk, the use of a charcoal BBQ is not allowed on the campsites. An electric or gas barbecue is allowed. Many campsites have special fire-safe stone BBQ (places). These are free to use.
In the ATP Sport Arena Stella Maris from 29th to 31st May, a big event is going on, Sea Star Festival powered by Exit. During those periods, we expect more ongoing activities and visitors, movements inside and outside of Stella Maris resort and consequently less peace and harmony than usual. The 36th edition of the ATP tournament Plava laguna Croatia Open Umag will be held from 10 to 19 July 2026 in the ATP stadium Goran Ivanišević in Stella Maris. During this period, we expect more ongoing activities and visitors, movements inside and outside of Stella Maris resort and consequently less peace and harmony than usual.
