Camping Domaine du Lac

Swim here just at the campsite – in the lake én in the swimming pool. The lake is really an asset: you walk from your spot to it. There is a small sandy beach where the youngest can play safely, and you regularly see children bobbing on an air mattress or fishing from the jetty. Your kids will entertain themselves for days here on the inflatable castle on the water.

The pool is uncluttered, clean and big enough to cool off. No slides or noise, just relaxed swimming while having a view of your kids. For the little ones, there is a wading pool with shallow water – ideal for the first jumps. And because the pool is not massive, it feels familiar and safe.

On warm days, it's pure enjoyment here: kids in the water, parents with a book or drink on the shore. Sometimes you just don't need more.

Domaine du Lac is not a campsite with loud music or busy animation teams – and that's exactly what makes it so nice. Here, children can play freely. There is a playground, a soccer field, a tennis court, a volleyball net, mini golf and table tennis, and enough space to just run around. In high season, the team sometimes organises something fun. Small-scale, cosy and just right.

The evenings are quiet on the campsite. You hear the rustling of the trees, the lapping of the water, and sometimes the laughter of children playing another game of soccer at sunset. Adults settle down on the terrace at the restaurant – overlooking the lake – for a tasty meal using local produce. 

At the camp store, you'll get fresh baguettes and croissants in the morning, and other basic groceries are just there too. Everything is close by and convenient. No hassle with long lines or crowded supermarkets.

The Dordogne is a region where you keep discovering. From the campsite, you can drive in fifteen minutes to Montignac, where you will find the famous Lascaux caves – an impressive experience, even for children. 

Sarlat-la-Canéda is about half an hour's drive away and is an absolute must for an afternoon strolling through narrow streets, enjoying an ice cream and browsing the market. Also fun: a day trip to Le Bugue, with the Dinopark or the Aquarium du Périgord Noir – perfect for children of all ages.

If you like water, you can canoeën on the Vézère or the Dordogne in the area. There are several departure points within a 15 to 20-minute drive from the campsite. A trip down the river, past cliffs and castles, is a vacation highlight for the whole family.

Also convenient: in the village of Plazac, within walking distance, you'll find a small supermarket, a bakery and a few local stores. Ideal for when you need something quick.
