Camping Le Col d'Ibardin

Children will love the water playground with fun water games and slides that guarantee hours of entertainment. Adults can relax on the beds or unwind in the sauna. For the more adventurous, the wide sandy beaches of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Hendaye are just 8 kilometres away, where you can enjoy exciting water sports such as surfing, stand-up paddling and windsurfing.

What immediately stands out at this campsite is its spacious layout and natural surroundings. The pitches and accommodations are scattered among tall trees, providing plenty of privacy and shade. You literally sleep in the middle of the greenery here. Children will not be bored for a second here. There is a large playground with slides and climbing frames, a bouncy castle, table tennis tables and even a small sports field. In high season, an enthusiastic entertainment team provides extra fun with craft activities, games and mini tournaments. In the evening, there is regular music or a family quiz on the terrace. The campsite also has a bar-restaurant with a sunny terrace where you can get fresh bread in the morning and enjoy local Basque dishes or a good pizza in the evening. And do you want to cook for yourself? In the small campsite shop, you get the basic groceries and tasty local products.

The location of Col d'Ibardin is a hit with families who want to combine beach and mountains. The beach of Hendaye is fifteen minutes away, and the seaside resorts of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Biarritz are also within easy reach. Perfect for a day of sun, sea and surf. In the mood for something active? Several hiking trails through the mountains start from the campground, suitable for young and old. With a little luck, you will spot donkeys, birds of prey or even wild ponies along the way. Or take the kids on the petit train de la Rhune: an old-fashioned little train that will take you to the top of Mount La Rhune in 35 minutes. A fantastic view of the ocean and the Pyrenees awaits at the top. Also fun: a visit to San Sebastián, just across the Spanish border. This Basque city is known for its child-friendly beach, attractive old town and delectable tapas (pintxos). Prefer something closer? The picturesque town of Urrugne is just 3 km away and has a weekly market, bakery and cosy village squares.
