Le Zagarella

As soon as you see the pool, you know enough: this is where your kids are going to have fun for hours. Zagarella's water park consists of several pools, indoor and outdoor, all heated. Even early in the morning, the water is pleasant.

Toddlers happily splash around in the paddling pool every morning, while the bigger kids can't resist the slides. There are several, including winding slides and a fast straight lane that you can take two at a time.

For those who prefer to relax, there is a Jacuzzi where you can leave the hustle and bustle behind for a while, while overlooking the greenery of the surrounding forest.

And then there is the Atlantic Ocean. The beach at Saint-Jean-de-Monts is less than 3 kilometres away. Don't feel like biking or walking? No problem, the campsite's free shuttle will take you to the beach in a few minutes. Think sandcastle building, kite flying and endless paddling. At the end of the day, watching the sun go down with s’n all together? Magical.

Whether you come for tranquillity or adventure, at Camping Paradis Zagarella you can do both. The animation team organises daily fun activities for young and old. The kids' clubs are divided by age and provide a jam-packed program: from crafts and sports games to theatre and mini-disco. Our kids were immediately sold when they met the mascot and wanted to go to their club every day after that.

Teenagers chill at the sports field, hang out at the ping pong tables or join a tournament. Evening is time for music and fun: live music, karaoke, foam parties’s and even performances by famous French artists through the Paradis des Stars program.

For you as a parent, there's plenty for you too: a modern gym, bike rentals to explore the area, and a bar with a terrace where you can relax with a drink while the kids are playing.

Got an appetite? No worries. There's a restaurant with a varied menu, a snack bar for quick cravings and a sweet corner where you'll treat your kids (and yourself) to ice creams, pancakes and churros. Every morning, you get fresh bread in the camp store. Everything is there to make your life easy.

Saint-Jean-de-Monts is a lively seaside resort with stores, markets, restaurants and – not to mention – a beautiful beach. From the campsite, you can get on your bike in no time and follow the bike path through the forest to the sea.

Fancy some adventure? Nearby, you will find the climbing park Explora Parc, highly recommended for active families. Climbing among the trees, archery or laser tag in the forest is guaranteed to bring happy faces.

Also fun: a day trip to the island Noirmoutier, reached via the extraordinary ‘Passage du Gois’, which can only be navigated at low tide. Visit the salt fields here or enjoy the tranquillity of a hidden beach.

Do you prefer culture and history? The area is full of small villages, abbeys and old fishing ports. Our tip: visit a local market in Saint-Jean-de-Monts or Notre-Dame-de-Monts and sample local produce.

And for those truly relaxing moments? Take a walk through the pine forest directly behind the campsite and listen to the gentle rustling of the wind. That's vacation.
