Camping El Bahira

Swimming with a view of the Mediterranean? At El Bahira, it's every day. The campsite features a beautiful pool filled with seawater – and believe us, it feels wonderfully refreshing on hot days. There is also a separate paddling pool, so even the little ones can splash around safely. Around the pool are sunbeds and umbrellas ready for a relaxing afternoon under the Sicilian sun.

But the best part: you walk to the campground's private cliff shore. No crowded beach, no rows of towels – here you enjoy the view of the bay in peace. The water is crystal clear, perfect for snorkelling or just bobbing in the sun. Don't forget your water shoes, because the coast is rocky but só beautiful that you don't want to miss it.

The kids can have fun on the sports field with games of soccer, volleyball or tennis. The playground is clear and is close to the restaurant – ideal if you have a coffee while they play. In high season, the animation team organises all kinds of fun activities, from craft hours to shows and sports competitions.

Do you have older children or teenagers along? They can sign up for diving lessons at the on-site dive centre. Experienced instructors will take you underwater, where a whole new world awaits. In high season, there is a 16+ disco.

After an active day, slide into the campsite's restaurant. Here you'll taste Sicilian specialities, from freshly caught fish to thin stone oven pizzas that your kid(s) won't get enough of. For a quick snack or ice cream, there is also a cosy snack bar. And every morning you walk to the mini supermarket for fresh bread, fruit, spreads and other daily groceries. Everything you need is within reach.

A short distance away is the colourful fishing village of San Vito Lo Capo, famous for its wide sandy beach, pleasant promenade and – yes – perhaps the tastiest couscous in Italyë. This town is perfect for a day out with the family: a nice swim, some shopping and finish with an ice cream on a terrace by the sea.

Are you looking for adventure? The campground borders the Zingaro Nature Reserve, a rugged and protected area where you can hike beautifully along limestone cliffs, hidden coves and breathtaking viewpoints. Don't forget your hiking boots – and your camera!

For a touch of city and culture, Palermo is within driving distance. This vibrant capital is bursting with markets, churches, fun chaos and a surprising number of kid-friendly museums and squares. Ideal for a day trip, you'll be talking about it for a long time.
