Camping Ekar Asiago

Although this campsite has no pool, you notice surprisingly little of that. Why? Because the children are busy romping in the outdoors from morning to night. The heat of summer is softened here by the altitude and the fresh mountain air. And do you feel like a cooling dip? Within a 20-minute drive, you're at Laghetto di Roana, a beautiful mountain lake where you can swim, paddle or just paddle on a rock at the water's edge.

The real water fun comes in the form of adventure: streams along the way on a hike, playing in the morning dew, and most importantly, kids feeling free to get dirty. That's a holiday too, right?

What immediately stands out is the relaxed atmosphere at the campsite. There is no busy entertainment program, but there is a focus on real experience. Every morning, you can participate in yoga on the lawn, with a view of the mountains. Or choose a light warm-up, ideal to start the day fresh and energetic.

For children, there is a fine playground with slides, climbing equipment and a cool zipline. In no time, they will have made new friends. Sports enthusiasts get their fill with tennis, volleyball or a game of soccer on the courts. And if you feel like trying something new: there are e-bikes, mountain bikes and scooters for rent to explore the area.

And then the restaurant ... such a nice place. Think terrace full of flowers, steaming tagliatelle with mushrooms and pizzas with local cheeses like the famous Asiago DOP. You taste the mountains on your plate. And yes, the pizza is also available for takeout. Handy when the kids are already in pajamas and you still want to enjoy a hot meal on your own porch. In the campsite mini-market, you can also order fresh bread every day and get everything you need for a simple but delicious camping meal.

The Altopiano dei Sette Comuni is a paradise for families who love nature. From the campsite, you can walk or cycle straight into the mountains. And with Asiago Guide you can discover trenches from World War I or go stargazing at night at the top of the mountain. A visit to the Asiago Astrophysical Observatory is highly recommended. Educational and magical at the same time!

With children, the possibilities are endless: from adventure park Acropark Roana (with 100+ tree-climbing activities!) to guided donkey rides, petting zoos or the magical Gnome Village in the forest. The giant bench on the mountain is also a hit. A short walk and you suddenly find yourself sitting on a bench so big, you feel like a kid again.

Looking for something cultural? Visit the open-air museum of Lusiana with its prehistoric village, water mills and educational workshops. Or take a look at the Pennar cheese dairy, where you'll see (and taste!) how the famous mountain cheese is made.

And if that's not enough, the plateau is bustling with events in the summer. From music festivals to wood carving competitions and craft markets, there is always something going on.
