Camping Taïga Puerto Santa Maria

As soon as the sun rises, you can already hear it: splashing, laughter and the happy cries of children who can't wait to dive into the pool. And don't blame them – the pool at Taiga Puerto Santa María is wonderfully spacious, with a shallow area for little ones and plenty of room to swim laps or just float around on your air mattress.

From bombing to pool games with vacation friends – the water is theéplace where the day began én ended. What about you? You're relaxing on a lounger, sunglasses on, book in hand.

And good news for beach lovers: the wide sandy beach of Playa de Puntilla lies right next to the campsite. There you can look for shells, build sandcastles, swim in the sea or have an ice cream together overlooking the waves.

For children, there is a fine playground where they can safely climb, clamber and make vacation friends. On the multi-sports ground, you can play a game of soccer, basketball or tennis together – ideal for starting the day actively or just raging after dinner. And in summer, it is bursting with fun activities: games, creative workshops and evening parties make for a lot of merriment on the grounds. 

For water rats, there is plenty of action on the water. In the immediate vicinity, you can windsurf, sail or even water skiën. Perfect for older children or sporty parents who want to try something new.

At dinnertime, slide into the restaurant Hippie, the cosy centrepiece of the campground. Here it smells of grilled meats, fresh herbs and summer cosiness. The specialities? Rice dishes and meat from the grill – prepared with love and served with a smile. While the kids play some more, you enjoy the evening sun and a relaxed atmosphere you won't find anywhere else.

Fancy seeing something of the surrounding area? Then a visit to Cádiz really should not be missed. This extraordinary city is only 20 kilometres away. You can get there in 25 minutes by car, but even more fun is to take the ferry from the port of El Puerto de Santa María. As you glide across the water, you can already see Cádiz looming on the horizon – a city at the very tip of a narrow headland, surrounded by the sea.

Once you arrive, you can enjoy wandering around the atmospheric, historic downtown. Narrow streets full of character, cosy squares, small boutiques and everywhere that fine Spanish life on the streets. Be sure to stroll along the malecón, the seaside promenade, where you have a view of the waves and the city at the same time.

But even outside the city, you can enjoy yourself. In the immediate vicinity of the campsite are several picturesque bays and wide sandy beaches that are really worth a visit. Think clear water, soft sand and plenty of space to play, sunbathe or search for shells together.

Fancy some action? Then the water park Aqualand Bahía de Cádiz (only 15 minutes away!) is a guaranteed success. Slides, kids' zones, wave pools – you won't get your kids out of there.

Whether you choose culture, nature or just a day at the beach, the area around Taiga Puerto Santa María offers it all – without having to drive far.
