As soon as the kids get out of the car, they naturally run straight to the water. And don't blame them! The pool here is a picture. No limp fries, but authentic pastas and grilled meats where the flames are almost still in them. The kids feast on the fresh ravioli as if they never did anything else. There is a cosy bar where you drink your first espresso in the morning and finish with a glass of ice-cold Mirto in the evening. For daily shopping, you drive a few minutes to the village of Loiri, where you can get the tastiest local cheeses and crusty bread in the small convenience store. Life here is simple, pure and incredibly nice.

You're in a prime location here to explore northeastern Sardinia. Are you out and about with real water rats? Then be sure to drive to Olbia (just 12 km away) or visit one of the nearby water sports centres. For a day of action, you can do some great horseback riding nearby through unspoiled nature.

An absolute must is a boat trip to the island of Tavolara. This impressive limestone rock sticks straight out of the sea, and from the beach near the campsite, you already have a great view of it. In the port of Porto San Paolo, you can get on the ferry. You can snorkel among the colourful fish. And for mothers who like a little strolling: the night market in San Teodoro is a party. Stalls full of handmade jewellery, bags and local delicacies under the twinkling stars. You get there in twenty minutes, and the atmosphere is always top-notch. Whether you opt for a day of culture in the historic centre of Olbia or an afternoon of beach hopping along the Costa Smeralda, you'll come home to the peace and quiet of your own Borgo every evening.
