L’escala Resort

On the resort grounds themselves, you’ll find seven inviting outdoor swimming pools, scattered amongst the beautifully landscaped gardens. Here you can start the morning with a refreshing dip, cool off during the afternoon heat, or let the children swim whilst you relax in a sun lounger by the poolside. If you fancy swapping fresh water for salt water, the iconic Costa Brava coastline is right on your doorstep. Just a short walk from the resort, you’ll find the child-friendly Platja de Riells with its shallow, calm waters, a fine sandy beach and a lively promenade lined with cafés and ice-cream stalls. You can also visit Cala Montgó, an idyllic and picturesque cove surrounded by rocks and pine trees, which is perfect for snorkelling in the crystal-clear Mediterranean Sea.

The modern and spacious apartments offer plenty of comfort for couples, families and larger groups. All apartments have their own furnished terrace, where you can enjoy your coffee in the morning sunshine or relax in the evening with a glass of local Spanish wine. Thanks to the fully equipped kitchen, you can prepare your own meals using fresh ingredients from the local market in L’Escala. In the leafy communal areas, you can take a stroll, let the children play, or hire bikes directly at the resort to easily explore the surrounding area on two wheels.

L'Escala Resort enjoys an excellent location in Catalonia, making it the perfect base for day trips, cultural explorations and nature experiences. Just a few minutes from the resort lie the Greco-Roman ruins of Empúries – one of Spain’s most important archaeological sites, where you can follow in the footsteps of ancient civilisations, right down to the coast. L’Escala itself is a charming, traditional fishing village world-famous for its salted anchovies (Anxoves de l'Escala). Here you can visit the local museum or take a seat in one of the town’s authentic restaurants to enjoy fresh fish and Catalan specialities. Art and culture lovers are also in an ideal location to explore the Salvador Dalí triangle: a short drive to Figueres takes you to the famous Dalí Theatre-Museum, or to the coastal village of Cadaqués. If you enjoy active holidays in the great outdoors, you can go for a walk in the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà nature reserve with its rich birdlife, or follow the Camí de Ronda – the spectacular coastal footpath with stunning views of the cliffs and the sea.
