Things to do when camping in Alsace

An enchanting region, Alsace features no shortage of fairy tale villages that captivate visitors year after year. Sharing the culture and cuisine of both France and Germany due to years of shared occupation, the region features so much to see and do.

Start with a visit to the principal city Strasbourg, where the storybook streets of Petit France entice you to wonder and wander. You’ll be drawn back in time as you appreciate the charming architecture and ambiance of the city, where you can indulge in some lovely cocoa fancies from the array of chocolatiers.

Venture out into the heart of nature by taking a hike or bike trip through the Vosges Natural Park, a scenic spot with stunning vantage points and brilliant blue water lakes. Let the marked trails lead you past an abundance of lovely flora and fauna.

For a true Alsace experience which captures the culture and ambiance of the region, head to one of the many unique and attractive villages. The towns of Kaysersberg and Riquewihr are a well worthwhile day trip from one of our campsites.

Don’t leave Alsace without sampling some of the delicious local specialities. A heart-warming stew called Baeckeoffe is ideal for energizing you ahead of a day’s adventure. Tarte flambée is another favourite of the region, and is best described as a pizza like bread topped with bacon, onions and crème fraiche.

We’re ready to welcome you on a truly unforgettable camping holiday in Alsace!
