Making its home in the pleasant port town of Ouistreham, and within touching distance of the Orne Canal, 4* Campsite Riva Bella sets the scene for blissful outdoor escapes in northern France. All the delights of Calvados and the gorgeous Côte Fleurie are within easy reach from this excellent resort in Normandy.
Ensuring that campers can enjoy swimming and splashing in all weathers, the pool of Riva Bella is both heated and covered, and lies close to the entrance of the resort. In the event that it rains, holidaymakers can still enjoy a dip in the pool, and when the sun does shine, we’d recommend a spot of swimming on the lovely beach located in the north of Ouistreham.
Riva Bella is a great choice for al fresco breaks with the kids, as it boasts a fun outdoor play park. The area around the campsite is green and natural, and is best explored by hiring bikes from the reception. One of the best routes to take is along the canal. As the sun sets, holidaymakers can toast marshmallows on the campfire while listening to fascinating tales.
Dining options at the camping include tapas style meals at the onsite snack- bar, where families can share mouth-watering dishes and refreshing drinks while reminiscing over their latest outings or planning tomorrow’s adventures. A mini market, bread stand, library, BBQ rental service and board game borrowing facility are also at the disposal of guests on a stay at Riva Bella.
The campsite is well-laid out in tree-lined avenues that feature spacious emplacements decorated with plenty of greenery and grassy areas. Set within these private and peaceful emplacements, our modern mobile homes provide the ideal home away from home on your camping trip to Calvados.
The campsite occupies a convenient setting in the south of Ouistreham, a charming port town with plenty to see and do. All the highlights of the town can be reached on foot from Riva Bella, whether holidaymakers want to visit the beautiful beach or a selection of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops. Ouistreham is also a great place to seek out aquatic activities, as many water sports providers in the area offer as sailing, sea kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, surfing and much more.
Lovers of history will be captivated by the sheer number of tourist attractions dedicated to World War 2, such as the D-Day crossing point of Pegasus Bridge. The campsite is also a good base for visiting the famous D-Day Landing Beaches, the closest of which is Sword.
There are yet more historical and cultural sightseeing opportunities in Caen, located around 20mins by car from Riva Bella to the south. As well as the Mémorial de Caen, some of the most notable attractions worth visiting in the capital of Calvados include L'Abbaye-aux-Hommes, the Museum of Normany, Caen Castle and Caen Botanical Gardens.
