Camping Kogerstrand

You can hear the sea from your accommodation, as camping Kogerstrand is only as far from the beach as the dunes. Cross the row of dunes on the other side and walk to the village of De Koog, a nice place for shopping, strolling, cafes and restaurants.

On Texel, it feels like time stands still for a moment. From Camping Kogerstrand you walk só into the National Park Dunes of Texel. The smell of the sea, the rustle of the marram grass and the song of seagulls form the backdrop to your holiday. Fancy a little exploration? The cozy centre of De Koog is within walking distance. Here, you score an ice cream, dive into a store or plop down on a terrace – with a view of children playing and maybe even a street organ in the background.

For a day of adventure, Ecomare is a must. Learn all about the seal sanctuary and the animals that live in and around the Wadden Sea. Children usually can't be turned away from the sea aquarium.

There is also plenty to discover by bicycle. There are over 140 kilometers of bike paths on the island. Cycle through woods and dunes to the south of Texel, stopping along the way at a farm store or a sheep farm where you can cuddle lambs. Prefer some action? Climbing in the climbing forest, shrimp fishing with a real cutter or blokarting on the beach – it's all possible here.
