Things to do when camping in Holland

The Dutch love to get on their bikes, so it’s a great idea to do as the locals to and rent a bicycle. It’s a fantastic way to explore all that the countryside has to offer. Drift along the welcoming flat roads as you pass by vibrant tulip fields, windmills and picturesque villages.

The national parks of Hoge Veluwe, Lauwersmeer and Dunes of Texel are scenic, serene escapes and make for wonderful walking trips. The gorgeous trees, flowers and landscapes are complemented with amazing wildlife.

Wide sandy beaches and lively seaside resorts can be found on the coast, as well as gorgeous little islands and mini peninsulas. Special mentions goes to the beach at Zandvoort aan Zee that boasts lovely sand and cool bars. On the island of Texel, day-trippers are rewarded with white sandy beaches and the chance to see some marine wildlife.

Once you have explored the countryside, you should make some time for the cities. In Amsterdam, there are amazing museums such as the Anne Frank House, Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum. Enjoy some of the café culture in between visiting the capital’s attractions before taking a canal boat trip. Other cities worth a visit include Rotterdam, Utrecht, Haarlem and Den Haag.
