Pure and proud in Värmland

Forests, but also as many as 10,000 lakes: that's Värmland. The longest river in Sweden, the Klarälven, divides the province in two and then flows into Lake Vänern, one of the largest lakes in Europe. Värmland is a wonderful area to get back in touch with the nature around you, whether you go hiking, canoeing, or super cool on a homemade raft down a river – a hit with the kids!

Authentic fishing villages

Rest and space still have meaning here. Cycle or walk from Karlstad to the north on the Klarälvsbanan (asphalt) which becomes the Klarälvsleden (gravel): you can get ahead here because the route is 220 km long. And go canoeing in Glaskogen Nature Reserve, with its vast forests and 80 lakes. Deep forests, shimmering lakes, fish, and absolutely nothing else. What more could you want?
