In Central France, near Couleuvre in the Allier (Auvergne), lies Domaine Bleu Céleste: a mini-camping site, but on a large piece of land. That may sound contradictory until you walk around. There is room to play and, above all, nothing to do. You are in the middle of the green, and within walking distance awaits the largest oak forest in Europe.

Water fun at Domaine Bleu Céleste

On hot days, the small swimming pool is theé gathering place. Not a crowded swimming paradise, but rather finely organised. Perfect for families with young children: quickly cool off, splash around, and then return to the trampoline or field. You sit there with your feet in the grass, while the kids make up their own “contest of who can splash the fastest”

Want to get out for a water adventure in nature? Then you're in the right place in this region. The river Allier flows through the area and is suitable for canoeing. This is one of those’n activities that will stay with you: paddling together, laughing at a crooked turn and meanwhile watching the landscape slowly slide by. The water moment here is thus nicely varied: a short swim at the campsite, or a tough trip in the area.

Amenities and entertainment at Domaine Bleu Céleste

Domaine Bleu Céleste is made for families who want peace, but with plenty to do. At the campsite you will find a trampoline, a table tennis table and a badminton and volleyball court. Younger kids have fun jumping and running, older kids challenge each other at the table tennis table or make plans for an off-campus activity. What about you? You don't have to be “program” all the time, because fun comes naturally here.

For those who like to stay active, this is a wonderful base. In the forest next to the campsite, you can hike, bike and mountain bike. Also available in the area is horseback riding. And for fishing enthusiasts: fishing is available, although a fishing license is required.

Eating makes the vacation extra enjoyable. On Monday and Thursday evenings, you can join us for a three-course meal. That happens in the cosy little courtyard: la Place du Bonheur. Think long tables, kids shuffling around after dinner, and you finally being able to finish a conversation without ten interruptions. In high season, if there is enough enthusiasm, a BBQ or pizza night is added.

Close to Domaine Bleu Céleste

If you like to dive into the region, there are plenty of options here. Less than fifteen minutes away is Lurcy-Lévis, known for Streetartcity. This is fun with kids because you can scavenge together for the most beautiful wall art. Suddenly, a town becomes like an outdoor scavenger hunt.

About a half-hour drive away, you'll find Hérisson, a charming town to stroll through. Also, Bourbon-l’Archambault is about half an hour away and is known for its castle, always good for a “knights and princesses” moment, even with children who normally écht to do so. For a larger day trip, Moulins, Nevers, Bourges and Montluçon are options about an hour away.

And then there's something for the parents: Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule, the famous wine region of the Allier. A fine stop if you go out for a morning and want to be back in the afternoon for the pool and the outdoors.

Domaine Bleu Céleste suits families who love nature, freedom and that rare luxury of space. Here, holiday becomes simple again: swimming, playing, eating together, and contentedly going to bed in the evening.
