    Benefits

    • Heated water park with three slides and wonderful solarium
    • On two sides sea: Atlantic Ocean and Golfe du Morbihan
    • Kids club in summer, plus playgrounds and bouncy castle
    • Bicycle and hiking trails start right next to the campsite

On the Presqu'île de Rhuys, between Sarzeau and Arzon, lies the four-star campsite du Menhir in Saint Gildas de Rhuys. This is one of those places where you shoot into holiday mode after just one day: the smell of fresh bread in the morning, splashing fun in the heated water park during the day and then straight to the beach. You are literally between two worlds: on one side lies the Golfe du Morbihan (1.5 km), on the other the Atlantic Ocean (1 km).

Water fun at Camping du Menhir

The water park is the beating heart of the campsite. As soon as you walk towards it, you can already hear it: screams of fun, splashing feet, and that typical “still ééééone more time!” at the slides. There are three toboggans, and honestly, even as an adult, it's hard not to join in for a while.

The pools are heated, so even on a cooler Breton day, the water feels nice. For little ones, there's a shallow pool where they can splash safely, with you at arm's length. And while the kids discover their own water world, you take your moment on the sun terrace. Just lie back, eyes closed, and all you hear is water and vacation groups making plans for the afternoon.

Extra fun: right by the water is a bar. That makes it easier to “hang out for a while” longer. A cold drink for you, an ice cream or snack for the kids, and your day feels instantly relaxed. In high season, there are also fun water events like pool parties and games around the pool. That gives just enough commotion without being too busy-pressure.

Facilities and entertainment at Camping du Menhir

Camping du Menhir really feels like a family campsite: friendly, lively and with lots of kids who quickly make friends. During the day, they live it up in the playgrounds (which include a bouncy castle), and you suddenly find that you can read your book, or at least three pages in a row, which is also a win.

In July and August, there is the kids' club (6–12 years old), weekdays in the morning. That's such a golden time slot: the kids are happy, and you have your hands free.

For slightly older kids and parents, there's plenty to do, too. A game of ping pong or pétanque always fits. Tennis and mini-golf are also there (for a fee), ideal for a small family tournament. And in the evenings, especially from mid-July to the third week of August, the campsite gets going with shows, dances, concerts, magic, games and fun apéro moments. So you don't have to “make something up” every night; you just roll right into it.

Practical, too: there's a snack bar, a bar with atmosphere and a small camp store with bread service. That means: no stress about breakfast. You just walk over, get warm croissants, and your day starts right away.

Close to Camping du Menhir

The location is really an asset. You are within walking distance of beautiful coastal trails, and there is a landscaped path right by the campsite. Perfect for a morning walk with a coffee in your hand or a bike ride with the family. The region is known for many cycling routes (up to 150 km of trails in the area), so this is a great place to get out and about, even with older children.

Fancy the sea? Within a few minutes, you are at the Atlantic coast (about 1 km) or driving towards the quiet waterfront of the Golfe du Morbihan (about 1.5 km). That variety is great: one day sandcastles and shell-finding, the next day a breath of fresh air by the waves.

For trips, you're in the right place here, too. Vannes is a must for an afternoon strolling along old streets and an ice cream at the port. Carnac is impressive with its famous menhirs. Children feast their eyes on those huge stones (“How?!”). And the Château de Suscinio is such a place where you automatically start making up stories about knights and secret passages. Closer by, you'll find ports and lively spots like Port du Crouesty (Arzon) and Port-Navalo, fun for a stroll past boats and a crêpe as a reward.
