Blessed with a beautiful setting in a landscaped floral garden, 5* Campsite Bois du Bardelet  welcomes holidaymakers to enjoy a haven of peacefulness close to the quaint town of Gien. This popular destination in the Pays de la Loire’s Loiret department is ideal for both recreational and relaxing holidays in France.

Living up to its reputation as a five-star campsite, Bois du Bardelet features first-rate facilities and amenities, such as its fantastic pool complex. Offering all-weather swimming due to having an indoor pool, the complex also boasts an outdoor pool with water slides. A dedicated pool for youngsters and a wellness spa complete the aquatic offering, and a pair of lakes dedicated to canoeing and fishing, respectively, are available to guests.  Please note: guests are not allowed to swim in the lake on-site at Les Bois du Bardelet.

A variety of activities are open to junior campers, such as sports including tennis, basketball, football and table tennis, as well as swinging, jumping and sliding around the onsite playground. In the high season months of July and August, parents can enrol the kids at the exciting mini club, where they can make friends while enjoying quizzes, workshops, mini discos and a weekly visit by a local pony.

The aesthetically pleasing restaurant and bar features an ivy-clad stone exterior with al fresco terracing that looks out to the lake. As well as serving up nice views, the restaurant offers regional specialities alongside familiar favourites and a selection of wines from the Loire Valley. The restaurant offers a takeaway service, and a well-stocked grocery store has daily essentials and produce for those who prefer to self-cater.

Around Bois du Bardelet Campsite

As well as hiring a bike to explore the local area, it’s recommended to hire a car to see the best of the region. Located a 15min drive from the resort is the town a Gien. Perched on the riverbanks of the Loire, the town is noted for its pottery production and features a handful of attractions such as Château de Gien.

Other notable places of interest in the local area include Château De Saint-Brisson-sur-Loire, a stunning medieval fortress offering archery, ghost tours, outdoor games and much more, and Beauval Zoo featuring over 4600 animals.

Holidaymakers who venture a little farther away from the resort can check out Orléans, where a number of sightseeing opportunities await. The highlights of Orléans include the Museum of the history of Joan of Arc, Cathédrale Sainte-Croix d'Orléans and Beaux-Arts d'Orléans museum.
