Camping Seasonova Haliotis

First a splash, then the rest of the day. The heated outdoor pool with a separate toddler area is the natural gathering place at the Seasonova Haliotis campsite in Pontorson on sunny days. Children splash carefree in the shallow end, while older siblings swim laps or play games in the larger pool. Around the pool are deck chairs and umbrellas; ideal for parents to grab a book or just do nothing. From the bar and terrace by the pool, you can easily keep an eye on everything. Children usually head straight for the outdoor playground, bouncy castle or multi-sports ground, where they can play soccer, basketball or badminton with their new vacation friends. The table tennis tables and bocce court soon set the stage for fanatical games where the whole family joins in. If you want to expend your energy, opt for the outdoor fitness area or warm up in the sauna with a steam bath after an active day. In the morning, walk to the small store for fresh bread and the first groceries of the day; later, slide into the bar or on the terrace for a drink or a simple meal.

From the campsite, you are within a few minutes of the green bicycle path along the Couesnon. If you follow this path for about nine kilometres, you will reach Mont Saint-Michel - a beautiful route past meadows with sheep herds in the salt meadows of the bay. The bay itself is about one kilometre from camping Seasonova Haliotis in Pontorson and invites walks with your feet in the sand, bird watching and enjoying the view that keeps changing with the tide. Mont Saint-Michel, some nine kilometres away, of course, remains the icon of the region. You walk across the bridge to the island, wander through the narrow streets, visit the abbey and walk on the ramparts overlooking the endless plain of the bay. With a guide, you can venture into the bay for a safe tour of the sandbars, where children and parents will learn more about birds, fish and the special nature of this UNESCO site. For a day full of animals and thrills, Alligator Bay is just a few kilometres from the campground. Crocodiles, turtles and other reptiles make this an outing children will talk about for a long time. Those who fancy a day in the city can easily drive from Seasonova Haliotis campground to Saint-Malo or Granville, both about 45 minutes away. There you will discover historic city centres, ports, boat trips and plenty of terraces. Even more history can be found in Fougères, with its impressive medieval castle and city walls.
