Camping Interlude

The brilliant blue pool, surrounded by palm trees and happy children, is the centrepiece of the campground. The outdoor pool is spacious, heated and ideal for a refreshing dip. For the little ones there is a safe paddling pool, with cheerful water toys where they will have fun for hours. The big eye-catcher? The play castle is in the middle of the children's pool. Just exciting enough for children of all ages.

And then, of course, there is the beach. Less than 100 meters from the campground lies the fine Plage de Gros Jonc. You just walk there with your towel slung over your shoulder. The children with shovels, you with a book. Here you build sandcastles while the sun slowly warms your feet. In the afternoon you swim in the sea, and in the evening, you search for shells together. Unforgettable.

Camping Interlude feels like a small holiday village. Everything you need is there. The kids' club (for all ages) is a true paradise for little adventurers. Crafts, treasure hunts, sports competitions. They enjoy themselves so much that sometimes you have to beg them to have lunch together. For the teenagers, there is a special program with music, games and beach volleyball. In the evenings, shows, dancing and live music create a festive atmosphere.

For parents, it's also really fun. There is a modern wellness centre with sauna and massages (yes, some real time for yourself!). And that restaurant ... What a surprise. Fresh, French and delicious. The moules-frites and local wine are sure to hit the spot every time. Don't feel like cooking? Get a pizza or something delicious from the snack bar.

The camp store is handy for fresh croissants in the morning, some fruit for the road or that one pair of sunglasses you forgot at home. Everything is there, and everything is well taken care of.

And do you really want quality time with the family? Then you are right here, because there is no cell phone network on the campsite (3G, 4G).

Île de Ré is a gem. Hire a bike (you just do it at the campsite) and discover the charming villages with their white houses and blue shutters. Ars-en-Ré and La Flotte are real postcard villages with cosy markets where you can find local cheeses, fresh fish and souvenirs. Children especially love the miniature train in Saint-Martin-de-Ré - and afterwards enjoy an ice cream on the terrace overlooking the harbour.

For an action-packed day, La Rochelle's aquarium (less than half an hour away) is a must. Shark skeletons, colourful fish, and even a tunnel under the water: a hit with teenagers, too.
