Camping Le bois de la Gachère

Dive into the heated, indoor pool and let the day begin at leisure. Draw a few laps or play with the little ones in the separate paddling pool with fun play elements. As soon as the temperatures rise, the outdoor pool also opens. A nice place to cool off or just enjoy bobbing. Fancy the sea? Walk from the campsite into the forest and within fifteen minutes you are on the wide sandy beach of Les Granges. Lay down your towel, play a game of beach volleyball or take a refreshing dip in the ocean. If you prefer a more sporty approach, seek out the waves at Sauveterre or Tanchet. These beaches are nearby and attract surfers and water sports enthusiasts from all over the region.  

The atmosphere at the campground is relaxed. During the day there is plenty of exercise on the multisport field and at the table tennis tables, and in the arcade you can play pinball or a game of billiards. Children will find their place in the large playground or join the Mizzy Club, where a varied program is organized in high season.’s In the evening, the terrace becomes a lively place. Sometimes there is a live music night or karaoke, other times themed meals are organized. Everything in a small-scale, friendly way. There is a bar and snack bar on site, and every morning you can go for fresh bread. If you want to explore the area, rent a bike at the reception and follow one of the routes that run right past the campground.  

The region surrounding Les Sables d’Olonne is multifaceted and inviting. The marshes of Olonne and the vast forests are best discovered on foot or by bicycle . The Vélodyssée – a long-distance cycling route – runs nearby and takes you along dunes, coastal villages and green paths. In the town Les Sables d’Olonne you will find markets, small stores, cozy squares and a zoo with special animal species. A little further away lies Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, a harbor town where you can stroll along the quays or enjoy a long beach day. Both cities have their own character, but share that relaxed Atlantic atmosphere. For a special outing get on the boat to the island Yeu, where you easily spend a day entertained with cycling and sightseeing. Or drive to Noirmoutier, accessible via a bridge or – at low water – over the impressive Passage du Gois. Visit a local museum, take a look at the aquarium in Talmont-Saint-Hilaire or spend an afternoon in the botanical gardens of the region.
