In the Vendée and Loire-Atlantique, there are numerous beaches and lively coastal resorts where having fun in the Atlantic Ocean is the order of the day. Bring a bucket and spade for sandcastle building competitions, snorkels for fish spotting and a wetsuit for a day spent enjoying enthralling water sports.

Away from the coast, the inner region is home to the famous Loire Valley. This much-loved and much-visited area boasts sprawls of rolling green countryside, quaint vineyards, sparkling rivers and streams. A playground paradise for lovers of the outdoors, the Loire Valley is ideal for walking, hiking, canoeing and cycling expeditions.

The Loire Valley, and indeed the wider region of Pays de la Loire is littered with many striking chateau that enchant and excite visitors with equal measure. Stunning examples can be found at Château de Brissac, Château de Saumur and Château du Plessis-Bourré.

Whilst the rural areas are simply beautiful, the towns and cities of the region also offer a lot for the adventurous holidaymaker. The city of Nantes features a blossoming Botanical Garden and the Jules Verne Museum. In historic Angers, tourists are rewarded with the chance to explore the House of Artisans, Château d'Angers and Terra Botanica theme park.

Along with the magical Machines of the Isle of Nantes theme park, the wonderful Puy du Fou amusement park with historical re-enactments is among the top things for kids to do on a camping holiday in Pays de la Loire.
