Camping De Watersnip

As soon as you see the swimming pool at Camping De Watersnip, you know: this is where the kids are going to have fun for hours. The large heated outdoor pool is open from mid-May, and a feast in itself, but the slide is only spectacular. After one slide, your child is sure to shout: “One more time! ” And so it goes on all afternoon.

For the little ones, there is a separate paddling pool with cheerful water play equipment. As a parent, you can sit comfortably next to them with your feet in the water and a book in your hand. The lifeguards keep a watchful eye, and that gives a nice feeling.

But there is more than just the pool. From the campsite, you can be on the beach of Petten in a few minutes by bike. In our opinion, one of the most beautiful spots on the North Holland coast. The beach is wide and quiet, ideal for a day of building sandcastles, flying kites, or just paddling. The kids come back with scoop nets full of ‘sea treasures’. Pure happiness.

At Camping De Watersnip you won't have to be bored for a moment. Early every morning you'll see children strolling around the grounds with their friends, heading for the playground or sports field. The animation team is fantastic – from crafts to mini disco and exciting scavenger hunts. In the Plons & Parel Indoor Play Paradise, children up to 10 years old can climb, clamber, slide and play.

The animation team is there for children up to 12 years old, but there are also regular events for older youth and adults. You can also let off steam with a game of pool, table tennis, table soccer or on the game consoles. Sports games are broadcast on the big screen. And while the kids are having fun, you can quietly enjoy a cappuccino on the terrace of the cozy brasserie. Fancy an easy meal? There is a snack bar with tasty French fries and snacks, as well as a restaurant where you can eat out with the whole family.

The campsite store is well stocked: fresh bread in the morning, a forgotten toothbrush or something tasty for drinks – you'll find it all there. And what's also nice: the campsite is clear and safe. This gives children the freedom to go out by themselves, and you can écht relax.

Those who stay at Camping De Watersnip are in the middle of a surprisingly beautiful region. Petten is located in the head of North Holland, and that means: dunes, beach and fun days out within easy reach. For example, De Goudvis amusement park and Land van Fluwel Adventure Park are less than a 15-minute drive away. Little ones can endlessly climb, slide and play – even in less than nice weather, and the Goudvis also has an indoor playground.

Also fun: the Sea Aquarium in Bergen aan Zee. You'll come face to face with sharks, starfish and even a stingray. And if you feel like some culture and fun, a visit to Alkmaar is a must. Stroll through the old streets, get an ice cream on the Waagplein, and don't forget the famous cheese market.

On Thursdays in July and August, there is a West Frisian Market with a parade in traditional costume, performances at the main church, and a market with various stalls. 

 Truly an outing for the whole family. And for nature lovers: Schoorl Dunes National Park is just around the corner. Put on your walking shoes, bring your backpack and enjoy an adventure among the highest dunes in the Netherlands.
