Lido di Sesto Camping Boats & Restaurant

The campground is located approximately where Lake Maggiore flows into Ticino. You can sunbathe and relax right by the water in the manicured green area on the lakeshore. You can also relax on the sun loungers (for a fee) by the pool. The outdoor pool is open from June to September. One of the lake's special features is its water sports centre. Here you can rent boats for guests with and without a boating license. For example, you can rent a canoe or a motorboat. It is also possible to bring your own boat on your camping vacation and leave it at the water sports centre, where you can get technical assistance if you need it. Camping Lido di Sesto works closely with the neighbouring Marina di Sesto. The jetties there are covered. The beach is about 250 to 1,000 metres away.

Life at Lido di Sesto campsite takes place mostly around the water. You can also hire bikes there, so you can explore the shores of the lake on two wheels. The campground is known for its cosy restaurant. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy original Italian specialities and the view of the lake on the veranda. You can also go to the bar, where you can order small snacks and a delicious breakfast in the morning.

Take an excursion to the Parco Regionale della Valle del Ticino and its smaller nature park. The hike takes you through idyllic wetlands and across dry heathlands. The area is ideal for bird watching. The area is traversed by a well-developed network of hiking and biking trails with information boards about the local nature. Holidaymakers interested in history can visit the municipal archaeological museum and admire rare grave artefacts dating from the sixth to the ninth century B.C. The municipality also houses the rock "Sass de Preja Büja" with ancient inscriptions. An important landmark of the region is the 270-meter-long iron bridge that has crossed the Ticino since 1868. The bridge connects Lombardy with Piedmont.
