Highly recommended is a day trip to Lake Ptuj with its cosy old town and terraces right on the waterfront. Just a short drive away is Maribor, the second-largest city in Slovenia. Here you stroll through colourful streets, discover historic buildings and taste local delicacies at one of the markets. For active days, the region offers plenty of opportunities: kayaking on the Mur River, horseback riding through rolling hills or hiking through unspoiled nature where you won't encounter anyone for hours.
