    Benefits

    • Pool with mountain views and separate children's pool
    • Directly on Via Verde: cycling without traffic or crowds
    • Els Ports Nature Park nearby: hiking among rocks and waterfalls
    • Authentic villages nearby, without mass tourism

Camping Terra Alta is located in the quiet interior of Catalonia, near the charming village of Bot. Surrounded by mountains, vineyards and the verdant countryside of the Els Ports Natural Park, this is an atmospheric family campground where you'll put the kids to bed with red cheeks in the evening, and reminisce with a local wine under the stars.

Water fun at Camping Terra Alta

The swimming pool at Camping Terra Alta may not be mega, but it is wonderful after an active day in the beautiful surroundings. Surrounded by cypress trees and overlooking the rugged landscape, here you jump só into the refreshing water. While you read a book in a deck chair or sip a cool drink, the little ones play in the separate paddling pool where they can splash around safely.

Facilities and entertainment at Camping Terra Alta

The small restaurant is a real surprise: here you can taste Catalan cuisine at its best. Slide onto the terrace for a relaxing lunch or a cosy dinner. And yes, parents have also been taught – the wine served here comes directly from the vineyards around the corner. The small store at the campground offers fresh bread and daily groceries.

Also nice: the campsite has bikes to hire. Because right from the campsite you step zó on the Via Verde, a former railroad line that is now a beautiful bike path. Even for those who do not normally like cycling, this is a treat.

Close to Camping Terra Alta

Camping Terra Alta is located in the middle of a region where rugged mountains, endless vineyards and quiet villages invite you to explore.

The Via Verde, a former railroad line, winds right past the campsite. Whether walking or biking, every meter of this route is an adventure in itself. Think long tunnels, old viaducts and impressive views over the green valleys of the Serra de Pàndols. Even with young children, this is a delightful outing. And a picnic along the way completes the picture.

For nature lovers, there is the Parc Natural dels Ports, a wild and rugged nature reserve that stretches across Cataloniaë, Aragón and the Valencian region. You will encounter wild goats while hiking and enjoy crystal clear streams that your feet nét dangle in for a little too long. With well-marked trails for every level, this is a paradise for hikers and little adventurers.

And then those villages! In the region’s Terra Alta and Matarraña are hidden gems of villages. Small streets with stone houses, cosy squares and church towers where time seems to stand still. In the village Horta de Sant Joan Picasso once painted his first cubist works. You just taste the history in the air.

If you want to know more about the background of this region, dive into the history of Terra Alta itself. This region played an important role in the Spanish Civil War, and you can still feel it in some places. Small museums and monuments tell stories that touch you.

A final tip for wine lovers (and there are usually a few on vacation 😉 ): visit one of the local wineries. Terra Alta's wines are hearty, sunny and surprisingly good. Many of the vineyards are just steps away from the campsite, so you'll be back at your accommodation in no time.
