Le Palais des Gouverneurs has a partially covered swimming pool where you can swim both indoors and outdoors without getting out of the pool. The pool is heated and has a great view. There are also comfortable sun loungers where you can relax and enjoy the French sun. If you'd rather swim in the sea, the nearest beach is only about 1.5 km away. However, there is also a wide range of lovely beaches to explore.

In the area around Le Palais des Gouverneurs there are various restaurants, cafés, bars and bistros with a wide variety of food. Especially by the harbour, there are a lot of restaurants serving international cuisine as well as local specialities. In your apartment you have your own kitchen, which allows you to prepare your own meals. There are no large supermarkets in the area, but there are small shops where you can buy the necessary goods. For breakfast, you can have bread delivered right to your apartment.

Le Palais des Gouverneurs is located on the Ile de Rochelle in the Bay of Biscay off the west coast of France. You can reach it via a bridge from the city of La Rochelle.  Île de Ré is also called "the white one" as all the traditional houses on the island are white. It also has beautiful nature, lovely beaches and cosy towns. Le Palais des Gouverneurs is more specifically located in the small town of Saint-Martin-De-Re with a cosy harbour, lovely restaurants and charming traditional buildings.

Île de Ré has a total coastline of 100 km, with large parts consisting of either pristine nature and long sandy beaches. Therefore, the most popular means of transportation is the bicycle, which you can rent directly at Le Palais des Gouverneurs. The city exudes nature and history, and there are many museums on the island dedicated to these two things.
