Lake Garda is the largest lake in southern Europe, beautifully set between high rock formations on the southern side and a more lush landscape on the wider eastern side. The cozy towns are like pearls on a string no matter which side you choose, and it's easy to get around by car and bus so you can see all the sights. For example, you could visit the largest town on the lake, Riva del Garda, or the Saturday market in the pretty town of Salo.
